Yes. If you employ 15 or more employees, it is always good to make sure employees receive EEO training.
No. However, some states require mediators to be attorneys. It must be noted that if the attorney is acting in a mediator capacity, he/she cannot give legal advice.
Mediation can cost between $150 - $500 per hour per party, depending on the issue(s) being disputed.
Yes, applicants have the right to file an EEO complaint if they feel they were discriminated against because of a protected basis (age, color, disability, gender, national origin, etc.)
Mediation can be as quick as 15-30 minutes or as long as 4-8 hours. Ultimately, the parties determine how long mediation lasts.
